1. Who we are
Legends Connect is provided by Stanley Apps Ltd ("we", "us"), a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17554469). Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We are registered with the ICO, registration number ZC291392.
By creating an account, you ("the business") agree to these terms. If you create the account for a company, you confirm you're allowed to agree on its behalf.
2. Legends Connect is for businesses
Legends Connect is for anyone who sells goods or services, however big or small: limited companies, sole traders, and side hustles such as selling from home or on social media. It doesn't matter how many customers you have. It isn't for purely personal use, like a family diary. When you sign up, you confirm you're using it for your business. You must be 18 or over to create an account.
3. Plans and payment
- The Free plan costs nothing and has the limits shown on the plans page.
- Each business can have one 7-day free trial of a paid plan. You add a card to start it. If you don't cancel before the 7 days end, your card is charged for the plan you picked. If you cancel during the trial, you pay nothing and move to the Free plan.
- Paid plans are charged monthly or yearly in advance, through Stripe. Prices are shown on the plans page in the app and on our website. If we become VAT registered, we will tell you before VAT is added. Paying yearly gets you 2 months free.
- Prices are per business, not per person, up to the number of people your plan allows.
- If we change prices, we'll tell you at least 30 days before your next payment at the new price.
- If a payment fails, we'll try again for a while and your plan keeps working. If it still can't be taken, you move to the Free plan.
Share and get your plan free
- Each business on a paid plan gets a share link. A business that signs up using it is linked to you as a friend. It can't be added afterwards.
- The scheme only covers plans paid by card on our website. Plans bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play don't earn money off and can't receive it, whether it's your plan or your friend's. A plan paid on our website covers your whole account, including the iPhone and Android apps.
- For every month a friend actually pays for, you earn 25% of the lower of: what they paid for that month, or your own monthly price. A yearly payment counts as 12 monthly parts.
- Each month counts only once it has been paid for and 30 days have passed. Free plans, free trials, free months given by us, and failed payments don't count.
- What you earn is added to your account as credit and taken off your next bill automatically. It's never more than 100% of your own monthly price in any 30 days, it only applies while you're on a paid plan, and it's never paid out as money.
- If a friend's payment is refunded or charged back, that business can never count again, even under a new account, and money off you earned from them in the previous 180 days is added back to your next bill.
- You can't share with yourself or your own other businesses. Business names can only be linked to a sharer once. We may remove money off or close accounts used to abuse the scheme, and we may change or end the scheme with 30 days' notice (money off already earned stays on your account).
4. Cancelling
You can cancel any time in Settings. Your paid plan keeps going until the end of the period you've paid for, then you move to the Free plan and keep your data. We don't give refunds for part-used months or years, unless the law says we must.
You can close your account completely in Settings. Your data is then deleted after 30 days (see section 9). Download anything you need first.
5. Taking card payments from your customers
If you turn on card payments, you connect your own Stripe account. Your customers' payments go straight to you through Stripe, and Stripe's own terms apply between you and Stripe. Stripe's fees come out of each payment, and you pay those to Stripe, not to us. We never see or store card details. You're responsible for refunds, chargebacks and disputes with your customers.
6. Your responsibilities
- Keep your login safe. Only give logins to people you trust, and remove people who leave.
- Only add customer and staff details you're allowed to have, and tell them how you use their information, for example in your own privacy notice.
- Tell your staff that their location is shared while they're on the way to a job. The app tells them too.
- Your prices, quotes, invoices, VAT and tax are your responsibility. Check them before you send them.
- Don't use Legends Connect to send spam, break the law, mislead people, or upload anything harmful or that you don't have the right to use.
- Don't try to get into other people's accounts, overload the service, or copy it.
7. Your shop page
You're responsible for what you put on your shop page. Every shop page shows "Hosted by Legends Connect", and Free plan pages also show "Get your own free booking page". We may remove a shop page, or anything on it, that breaks these terms or the law.
What you can't sell or advertise
You must not use Legends Connect, your shop page, invoices or card payments for anything illegal in the UK, or for:
- drugs, legal highs, nitrous oxide for inhaling, or prescription medicines without the right licence
- weapons, ammunition, explosives, or anything banned such as knuckle-dusters, flick knives and zombie knives
- fake, counterfeit, replica or stolen goods, or fake documents and IDs
- sexual or adult services or content
- scams, pyramid schemes, "guaranteed" investments, loans or debt collection without the right authorisation, gambling, or selling personal data
- hacking, spyware, fake reviews or followers, or exam and essay cheating
- animals or animal products that it's illegal to sell, or anything to do with people trafficking, illegal working or sham marriages
- anything that's hateful, harasses people, or puts children at risk
Card payments also follow Stripe's list of restricted businesses.
Reviews
- Your customers can leave a star rating and a review after a job is marked done, using a private link we email them. Only customers with a real job can review you.
- Reviews and your average rating show on your shop page unless you switch this off. You can reply to a review, but you can't change or delete it.
- Don't write reviews of your own business, ask friends or staff to, offer anything in return for good reviews, or put pressure on customers. This is against the law on fake reviews.
- We may hide a review that breaks these terms or the law, for example one that is abusive, shares private details, or is fake.
How we keep it safe
- Word check: products, services and shop pages are checked automatically. Anything that looks like it breaks these rules is hidden until a person at Stanley Apps has looked at it.
- Reports: every shop page has a "Report this page" link. Anyone can use it, and we check every report. You can also email hello@stanleyappsltd.com.
- Taking things down: if something breaks these rules or the law, we can remove it, take down your shop page and pause card payments straight away, without warning. We'll tell you why. Your diary and records stay yours.
- Serious cases: we may close the account and pass information to the police or other authorities when the law requires it or someone is at risk.
- If you disagree: email hello@stanleyappsltd.com and tell us why. A person will look again and reply.
8. Your data belongs to you
Everything you add stays yours. You can download your earnings, invoices (including for Xero and QuickBooks) and a customer's details at any time. We only use your data to run Legends Connect for you, as set out in section 9.
9. Data processing agreement (UK GDPR Article 28)
- You are the controller of your customers' and staff's personal data. We are your processor.
- We only process that data to provide Legends Connect, following your instructions. Your instructions are the way you use and set up the app.
- The data is: names, contact details, addresses, bookings, jobs, quotes, invoices, payments, messages, notes, photos, signatures, staff details and, while a worker is on the way, location. It is kept for as long as your account is open.
- Our staff who can reach the data are bound by confidentiality. Our support team only opens your account when you ask for help, and every time is recorded in your activity log.
- We use appropriate security: encryption in transit, scrambled passwords, two-step login, permission checks on every request, an activity log and daily backups.
- Our sub-processors are: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, backups and email sending, in Western Europe), Stripe (payments), Mapbox (maps and driving times, which may be processed in the United States under UK transfer safeguards), OpenStreetMap (map pictures), postcodes.io (postcode look-ups), Apple, Google and browser makers (delivering notifications), and WhatsApp (Meta) for support messages you choose to send that way. We'll tell you before adding new ones, and you may object.
- Where data leaves the UK, it is protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
- We'll help you answer requests from people about their data. The app has buttons to download or delete a customer's data.
- We'll tell you without undue delay if we find a personal data breach affecting your data, and help you meet your duties.
- When you close your account, we delete your data after 30 days, and from backups within a further 30 days.
- We'll give you the information you need to show you're following UK GDPR.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Legends Connect running all the time, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted, for example during updates or problems with our providers. We keep improving Legends Connect and may change or remove features. If a change takes away something important on your paid plan, we'll tell you first.
11. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or the service at risk, or is used against the law. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
12. Liability
We're not responsible for loss of profits, business or income, or for losses that weren't foreseeable. Our total liability in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in that time. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it applies. The latest version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute.
